Settings can scan your GPU/RAM and suggest the fastest Ollama model that fits your VRAM budget, then download it for you with one click.
Three voice types are available, each with different audio routing.
Built into Windows — robotic/classic TTS, no setup needed. Audio plays through your default speakers; OBS picks it up via desktop audio capture. No OBS overlay required.
High quality, natural-sounding. Uses Microsoft Edge's speech API (requires internet) and plays inside the OBS browser source as its own audio track. Examples: en-US-ChristopherNeural, en-US-JennyNeural.
Recommended speech speed is 1.0x–1.2x. Above 1.3x sounds rushed; below 0.9x feels unnatural live. Chat TTS (reading chat messages aloud) can use its own separate voice and speed from the AI's response voice, and supports a word/phrase block-list so nothing inappropriate gets read on stream.
Talk to StreamBuddy live on stream and hear it respond in real time, powered by local Whisper transcription. Two modes are available in Settings → Voice Input:
The overlay renders the StreamBuddy avatar and plays Neural/Edge voice audio. OBS captures it as a dedicated Browser Source.
http://localhost:3847. Separate streaming PC: use the LAN IP address shown on the Dashboard instead. Set width 220, height 300.3847 is blocked by your firewall. On dual-PC setups, allow port 3847 through Windows Firewall on the PC running StreamBuddy.Games overlay: a second browser source at /games (e.g. http://localhost:3847/games) renders animated game visuals like Plinko and Coin Pusher.
StreamBuddy reads and responds in chat across all three platforms simultaneously.
OAuth sign-in from the Connect page — open your browser, approve, done. No password is ever shared, only chat read/write permission. If the connection drops, disconnect and sign in again from Connect.

OAuth (PKCE flow) — a browser window opens for login, tokens are stored locally and auto-refresh. You only need to sign in once.
Each platform's connection card has an optional "Post chat replies as a bot" section — turn it on so StreamBuddy's chat text posts under a different name than your own streamer account, instead of coming from you.

For Velora, click Set Up a Bot on the Connect page. It lists any bots you already own first — pick one, or create a new one with a name (checked live for availability) and an optional avatar.
This is the heart of making StreamBuddy feel like your co-host instead of a generic chatbot.
Give your co-host a name, then write a short system prompt describing its personality. Mention the streamer's name and game genre — specific prompts dramatically outperform generic ones.
You are StreamBuddy, a witty and hype AI co-host for [streamer name]'s gaming stream. Keep replies under 2 sentences. Match the energy of the chat. Never break character.

Response Delay (0.5s–1.5s recommended) makes the bot feel like it's reading and thinking rather than instantly blasting a reply.
When set, StreamBuddy only responds to messages containing one of these words — e.g. !buddy or @StreamBuddy. Leave empty to respond freely at the configured rate. Essential on high-traffic channels so the bot feels summoned rather than spammy.
Enable this to stop StreamBuddy replying to Nightbot, Moobot, and other chat bots — prevents bot-to-bot reply loops.
StreamBuddy can post its AI responses directly into chat as text, not just speak them aloud — viewers see the reply right in the feed. Live now on Twitch; Kick and Velora support is coming soon.
Create custom !commands for your channel from Settings → Chat Commands. Set a trigger word and define the response — static replies, countdowns, links, and more.

The AI runs a full automated gameshow — picks games, hypes chat between rounds in a host personality you choose (Hype Host, Chill Vibes, Roast Master, Sports Caster, Chaos Goblin, or a custom prompt), and crowns a champion at the end. Configure show duration, break length between games, and which games are in rotation.
Tracks score and wins per player across two views: This Session (resets when you reset it or restart) and All-Time (persists across streams). Both can be cleared independently from the Games page.
Free. Runs in the background any time, independent of whatever round-based game is active. All off by default — turn them on in Settings → Chat Economy.
Viewers earn coins just for chatting — configurable coins-per-message and a per-viewer cooldown so it can't be farmed by spamming.
Chat casts a line with !fish. Loot ranges from junk (an old boot, 1 coin) to legendary catches worth up to 200 coins — roughly 1 in 7 casts comes up empty. !tackle shows a viewer's catch history, !coins shows their balance.
Click the ⚙ gear on the Fishing card (Games page) to fully customize the catch pool: toggle any built-in fish on/off, rename or reskin it, adjust its coin value within its rarity's range, or add your own custom fish — pick a rarity and StreamBuddy fills in balanced catch odds automatically.
Chat wagers coins with !slots <amount>. Most spins post as plain chat text; jackpots and big wins get a voice shoutout and show on the Games overlay. Turn the whole command off in Settings → Chat Economy if you'd rather not have gambling on your channel.

Set a trigger (e.g. !discord), a response using {'{user}'}/{'{count}'} placeholders, a cooldown, mods-only or anyone, and whether it's spoken aloud or chat-text only. Works any time — never blocked by a round-based game.
Greet chatters automatically the first time they show up each session — no command needed. Pick who counts: anyone (new chatter), VIP, subscriber, moderator, or one specific username.
A fixed message posted on a repeating interval — a Discord link, a donation reminder — independent of the chat-reply toggles.

Mods and the streamer type !shoutout username or !so username to shout out another channel. It shows a timed box on the Ads overlay, tinted to the platform it was triggered from — purple for Twitch, green for Kick, gold for Velora — and posts a channel link back into that same chat only, never broadcast to every connected platform.

Quick reference for every settings area.
Check the Dashboard AI status indicator. "Starting…" means Ollama is still loading — give it a minute. If it stays yellow, verify the Ollama URL in Settings (http://localhost:11434) or switch to Cloud (Claude API) to isolate the issue.
Check the Logs tab on the Dashboard for "Neural TTS: synthesis failed" — usually a connectivity issue reaching the Edge TTS API. Also confirm you selected a voice and clicked Save Settings before testing.
Right-click the browser source → Properties → confirm "Control audio via OBS" is checked, and that the Audio Mixer shows a "Browser" channel with its volume up.
StreamBuddy must be running before OBS loads the source — close and reopen the browser source after starting the app. Confirm port 3847 isn't blocked by Windows Firewall.
Adjust Response Rate in Personality. On busy channels, switch to trigger words so the bot only replies when directly addressed. Confirm "Ignore bot accounts" is on.
Disconnect and sign in again from the Connect page to refresh your OAuth grant — Twitch tokens can expire or be revoked.
Double-check the format: GB-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XX. Each key allows up to 3 activations — if you've reinstalled multiple times, contact support to reset your activation count. This applies to Base too — every install needs an account and an active license (free for Base, paid for Pro) before its serial will activate.
Your main Velora account must be connected first — the bot section stays inactive until it is. If it still fails, the Velora developer app likely needs the bot:write scope added on our end; if this keeps happening, let us know on Discord.
Shoutout only responds to mods and the streamer — a regular viewer typing it is ignored by design, and there's a 10-second cooldown between uses. For giveaways, double-check the platform you're testing from matches the giveaway's configured scope (All Platforms vs. one specific one).
